Gary's Quick Tip

Let's talk about air filters.  This is one part of the A/C system that a homeowner can control.  80%-90% of homes use the wrong filter and this can slow down air flow as it is trying to pass through.  If the air flow slows down, the indoor motor will have to work harder to get the air it needs.  With the new R-410 Freon, system air flow is so important because Freon charge will change with air flow and could flood the compressor.  This can cause the indoor motor to fail sooner, compressors to be louder, longer running cycles, higher electric bills, higher maintenance costs, and, most of all, discomfort.  Pictured below are the filters we recommend for homes.

Every house is different, but filters should be changed every 4 to 6 weeks in most cases.  This is one thing you can buy cheap and feel good about!  Don't purchase expensive filters, just change the cheaper ones more often!!!
